Protecting GearHippo Users. At GearHippo we understand that your privacy is important. GearHippo does not share any of your information with third parties except as set forth below.

Posting Requirements. You must be over the age of 13 to list on GearHippo.com. If a poster is found to be under the age of 13 the post will be removed immediately. GearHippo cannot and does not control any material found on third party sites. These third party sites are governed by their own Terms of Use and Privacy Policies. Please read them when visiting sites outside of GearHippo.

Information We Collect.

• Information you provide: When you sign up for a GearHippo account to list gear, we ask you for your email address (to send you emails regarding administrative matters and when requested, promotional emails and surveys to improve GearHippo's services) and an account password. You cannot opt out of receiving administrative emails as they are necessary for us to administer your account. However, you can opt out of all promotional emails and surveys by emailing team@gearhippo.com from the email that you wish to unsubscribe and with "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the subject line.
• Log Information: When you use GearHippo Services, our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website. These server logs may include (but is not limited to) information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, and the date and time of your request.
• Communications: When you communicate with GearHippo (via email or any other way), we may store those communications in order to respond to your inquiries, handle your requests and improve our services.
• Cookies: A cookie is a string of characters sent to your computer when you visit a website so that when you visit the website again, the website can recognize your browser. GearHippo uses cookies and other technologies to enhance your online experience and to learn how you use GearHippo services in order to improve the quality of our services. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies. However, you will not be able to use GearHippo's services that require you to "sign in" or the "favorites" feature that helps you remember the listings you are interested in. However, you can still use GearHippo to browse listings or for general information.
  Archived Information. Information related to each posting is stored in our database when postings are submitted and may remain stored after they are deleted from the site. User account information (titled 'Contact Information') is stored for current and future use. We make all efforts to securely store GearHippo's users information, but we are unable to guarantee any or all information will be completely secure. 

Data Security. We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized disclosure of user data and restrict access to personal information to GearHippo employees, who may need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services, but, we cannot guarantee complete security of user data.

Release of Collected Information. GearHippo will only disclose user information if we have a good faith belief that disclosure of such information is required a) by law, b) to enforce the Terms of Use (http://www.gearhippo.com/#copy.terms_of_use), or c) to address fraud, security, or technical issues.
